Centiel Confirms $51.4M US UPS Order for 2027 Delivery

Swiss UPS manufacturer Centiel SA confirmed on October 19, 2026, that it had formally accepted a $51.4 million purchase order from its US distribution partner, Neo Critical Power LLC.

The order brings Centiel's confirmed US order backlog to $60.1 million, including an earlier $8.7 million order announced in July. Production and delivery are planned for 2027.

UL Certification Supports US Market Entry

The order follows Centiel's October 12 announcement that its modular, transformerless UPS technology had obtained UL certification for the US market.

According to the company, the certification process involved third-party assessment, compliance and performance testing, and factory evaluation.

Centiel is completing production validation and preparing manufacturing capacity at its Swiss facilities. The earlier $8.7 million US order, originally scheduled for 2026, has also been moved to 2027.

Certification and Production Readiness

Centiel's latest order highlights two separate requirements for UPS suppliers entering the US market: obtaining the applicable product certification and preparing manufacturing operations for commercial delivery.

UL certification addresses compliance with the requirements covered by the certification, while production validation and factory testing help verify that the equipment can be manufactured and delivered in its intended configuration.

The confirmed orders represent a commercial milestone, but they do not mean that the UPS systems have already been delivered.

Centiel has not disclosed the capacities, quantities, or individual project locations covered by the latest order.

The company expects US deliveries to begin in 2027 as it completes manufacturing preparations and final system validation.

UPS system architecture also varies by application. Modular transformerless UPS systems are used in data center power infrastructure, while transformer-based low-frequency UPS systems remain an option for industrial and medical applications where electrical isolation, load characteristics, and transformer configuration influence equipment selection.
