The global data center physical infrastructure (DCPI) market reached $14 billion in manufacturer revenue in the second quarter of 2026, up 27% year over year, according to research firm Dell'Oro Group.

In its October 14, 2026 announcement, Dell'Oro also reported approximately 20% year-over-year growth in UPS revenue, with gains concentrated in large three-phase systems supporting AI data center construction.

The figures highlight rising investment in power and cooling equipment, although grid connections, long-lead equipment and permitting continue to affect project schedules.

UPS and thermal management drive infrastructure spending

Dell'Oro Group reported the following results for Q2 2026:

Market indicator Reported result
Global DCPI manufacturer revenue $14 billion
DCPI revenue growth 27% year over year
UPS revenue growth About 20% year over year
Thermal management revenue growth More than 40% year over year

Data: Dell'Oro Group, October 14, 2026.

The $14 billion figure represents manufacturer revenue across physical infrastructure equipment, including UPS, cooling and power distribution. It is not UPS revenue alone, total end-user project spending or a count of data center projects.

Thermal management was the fastest-growing segment, supported by demand for direct liquid cooling and heat rejection equipment.

For UPS, the strongest gains were concentrated in large three-phase systems as AI data centers increasingly adopt megawatt-class power blocks.

Power availability and permitting remain major constraints

Demand for AI infrastructure does not guarantee that projects can proceed on their original schedules.

Dell'Oro identified power availability, equipment lead times, grid interconnection and permitting as constraints affecting data center development.

These issues can delay construction and electrical system procurement even when customers maintain their investment plans.

For developers and electrical contractors, reliable delivery increasingly depends on coordinating utility capacity, UPS systems, power distribution and cooling infrastructure early in the project.

What the market data means for UPS suppliers

The reported UPS growth reflects demand from data center infrastructure, particularly large three-phase installations. It should not be interpreted as the same growth rate for every UPS capacity, application or geographic market.

Large AI data center facilities have different power architecture and redundancy requirements from industrial plants, hospitals and smaller critical power installations.

For these projects, UPS selection still depends on actual load characteristics, redundancy objectives, battery backup requirements and site electrical conditions.

BLAZING POWER supplies low-frequency UPS systems and modular UPS systems for applications where their technical specifications match the project requirements.

System integrators and electrical contractors can contact BLAZING POWER with their load specifications, site voltage and backup requirements to discuss a suitable configuration.
